6th grade rehearsal

Today is our excel excel playing rehearsal for 6th grade! We are missing half the band for a field trip, so our group will be small.

Learning Targets:
1) I can play Grandfather's Whiskers at a 3 out of 4 on our 4 point rating scale
2) I can define partner songs. I can play Swing Low at a 3 on our 4 point rating scale
3) I can play All night all day at a 3 on our 4 point rating scale
4) I can define "chromatic scale."
5) I can articulate what songs I would like to play at the concert
6) I understand our new Section Leader role. I know how to volunteer if I want to.

Our Plan:
1) Sign in and find your seat!

2) Review the rules and expectations for class! Brief talk about our Core Pack Values and how they relate to band.

3) Do you need anything to be successful?

4) Standard of Excellence Book 1 review!  Grandfather's Whiskers! If you do not have your book do not panic! I have extras for most instruments. If I don't have an extra you can look on with a friend. But from now on PLEASE remember your book!

5) Swing Low, All Night All Day, Manhattan Beach March!  - Assessment. It ought to be a three. If not, why not? I am sure it will be!

6) New music procedure and teacher vs. class for solfege. Let's sing a little!

7) Teacher Selected Pieces.

8) Please remember to practice!

I am really looking forward to seeing you and working with you today!
