6th Grade Band

Today is our excel excel playing rehearsal for 6th grade!

Learning Targets:
1) I can play Swing Low at a 3 on our 4 point rating scale
2) I can play All night all day at a 3 on our 4 point rating scale
3) I can play Manhattan Beach March at a 3 on our 4 point scale
4) I can sing "Do" when given a dominant pattern to start.
5) I can articulate what songs I would like to play at the concert
6) New Section Leader role. Last chance to volunteer!

Our Plan:
1) Sign in and find your seat!

2) Review the rules and expectations for class! Brief talk about our Core Pack Values and how they relate to band.

3) Do you need anything to be successful? Get packets if you need them! Get reeds if you need them!

4) Standard of Excellence Book 1 review!  Grandfather's Whiskers! If you do not have your book do not panic! I have extras for most instruments. If I don't have an extra you can look on with a friend. But from now on PLEASE remember your book!

5) Swing Low, All Night All Day, Manhattan Beach March!  - Assessment. Last class we were not quite at three yet. Let's get there today!

6) Teacher vs. class for solfege. Let's sing a little! Hand Sign for "Do." Can you find "Do" after I sing a pattern?

7) Over the Rainbow! Start at measure 13 and learn to measure 21. Once 13-21 are roughed in, return to the beginning and play from the beginning to 21.

8) Please remember to practice!

I am really looking forward to seeing you and working with you today!
