8th Grade PLC
Welcome to our band rehearsal! You will need your instruments and your devices. There is a TON to do. We will need to be purposeful to get it all done, especially given the early dismissal day due to veterans day. As we prepare "Last Full Measure" it is a good idea to think about what those words mean, and those who risk their lives in the service of this country.
Our Plan:
1) Welcome!
2) Warm Ups and Tune - "Tradition of Excellence Book 2 - Page 2 and page 42
3) Student Conductors! Fourth lesson review
6) A Wild West-ern Regional Etude (sections 1, 2, and 3)
Instructional techniques: Teacher Modeling and sectionals - Final reminder for
paperwork
7) Listen to "Last Full Measure"
8) Start Rehearsal of "Last Full Measure." Rehearsal techniques will include: Full Band Run Through for Pre-assessment, Sectionals for differentiation, Full Band Run through for Post Assessment, Student Conductors. We wan the entire piece "roughed in" today. GREAT JOB FLUTE SOLOISTS! We've had 3 thus far in 7th and 8th grade band. We need some more!
9) Listen to Amazing Grace.
Rehearsal techniques include student conductors, direct instruction, and sectionals
