8th Grade band rehearsal today!

Hello and welcome to our rehearsal 8th Grade!

We have a lot to do today. First, I am very proud of you. It is time now for us to get up and moving on new pieces.

Our Learning Targets:

(Drums)  I can play 2 variations of the hip hop beat on the drum set at least a 2 on my 4 point rating scale.

Wind and bells: I can play a concert Bb major, Eb major, and F major scale with arpeggio

I can evaluate my performance using our 4 point rating scale and give concrete examples of how to improve.

I can play My Shot from Hamilton at a 2 or more on our 4 point rating scale.

I can play Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring at a 2 or more on our 4 point rating scale.

Here is our plan:

1) I will greet you at the door and hand you a red clip. I will explain the various uses for the clip (questions and bathroom) during the rehearsal.

2) Objective discussion: while you walk in you will hearing a recording of My Shot. Get set up and in your seats quickly. We will review our learning targets.

3) Warm Ups! - Scales and rudiments

4) Please find a copy of "My Shot" from Hamilton on your stand.

6) Hip hop beat introduction.

7)
Rehearse sections (teacher modeling, discuss the STAR sight reading protocol)

8) Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring by Bach

9) Practicing Assignments.

I look forward to seeing you for PLC!
