Hello and welcome to our rehearsal for 7th grade!
We are now one rehearsal behind due to snow! We have a lot to do today. First, I am very proud of you. It is time now for us to get up and moving on new pieces. Today's rehearsal will be spent doing a little maintenance. It is time to hand back our music from the first concert, get some new music from the second, go over the results of our concert survey together, and choose our student selected piece! Today is the absolute deadline for voting in our Google Poll.
Our Learning Targets:
(Drums) I can play a single stroke, double stroke, and five stroke roll. I can play flams and flam taps
Wind and bells: I can play a concert Bb major, Eb major, and F major scale with arpeggio
I can evaluate my performance using our 4 point rating scale and give concrete examples of how to improve.
I can play Mars from the Planets at a 2 or more on our 4 point rating scale.
Here is our plan:
1) I will greet you at the door and remind you to check in and that you need your devices today if you have not voted in our poll.
2) Objective discussion: while you walk in you will hearing a recording of some songs. Get set up and in your seats quickly. We will review our learning targets.
3) Warm Ups! - Scales and rudiments
4) After warming up we will be doing some discussion. We will go over the results of the student selected pieces survey. Today is the day that I order.

5) Please find a copy of "Mars" from Holst's "The Planets" and Bach's "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring" on your stand.
6) Discuss 5/4 time. Rehearse Holst
6) Rehearse sections. (teacher modeling, discuss the STAR sight reading protocol)
7) Discuss 3/4 time conducted "in one." Rehearse Bach.
8) Practicing assignments!
I look forward to seeing you for PLC!
