8th Grade Band

Welcome to our band rehearsal! You will need your instruments and your devices. There is a TON to do. We will need to be purposeful to get it all done.

Last class we focused the majority of our time on "Amazing Grace." Today I want to begin with a review of that piece, and then move forward to "Last Full Measure." While we wait for our student selected pieces to arrive, we will be adding "Armed Forces on Parade" to our repertoire as well. Rehearsal on that piece will begin today after "Last Full Measure."

Our Plan:
1) Welcome!

2) Warm Ups and Tune - Western Region Scalesl

3) Page 42 Warm Ups, including scales and chorale

LUNCH BREAK

B=
1) Listen to "Amazing Grace"

2) Start Rehearsal of "Amazing Grace." Rehearsal techniques will include: Full Band Run Through for Pre-assessment, Sectionals for differentiation, Full Band Run through for Post Assessment, Student Conductors. We wan the entire piece "roughed in" today.

3) Listen to "Last Full Measure"

4) Start Rehearsal of "Last Full Measure." Rehearsal techniques will include: Full Band Run Through for Pre-assessment, Sectionals for differentiation, Full Band Run through for Post Assessment, Student Conductors. We want to start polishing today, and we ought to have the piece roughed in successfully. GREAT JOB FLUTE SOLOISTS! We've had 3 thus far in 7th and 8th grade band. We need some more!

5) Armed Forces on Parade.

6) Assignments for practicing.

7) Post to Google Classroom for "exit ticket."
