2nd band mini!

Welcome to band class! This year you will be getting a band lesson for 1/3rd of the year during the "band mini" if you are in 7th or 8th grade, and ½ of the year if you are in 6th grade. The remainder of the year you will have your lesson during excel. I always post the lesson plan for the next day on the blog, so you can know what to expect. Those of you who have the band mini this week don't need your instruments. This week the lesson plan is the same for every band "mini."

Learning Targets:
I can list 4 ways to show our core values: "Pride, Attitude, Commitment, and Keep It Safe" in band.

I can prioritize those four ways in order of importance. I can articulate why I think the most important way to show pride or attitude is most important.

I can collaborate with classmates to decide on a student selected piece.

6th Grade: I can play several songs from last year on my instrument successfully.

7th Grade: I can play a Bb major and a chromatic scale.

Our Plan:
1) Welcome! Name review for the 6th graders!

2) Finish our Core Pack Values activity.

3) Share our practice spaces.

4) Instruments out! Embouchure and technique pretest.

5) Playing review. 7th and 8th grade gets pep band music. 6th grade with red books.

6)  Onto Google Classroom!

7) Student selected pieces discussion.

8) Closure
